Press Release: Epoxy Oilserv Nigeria Acquires An Ultra-Modern Water Treatment Plant for Deionized and Demineralized Water
Epoxy Oilserv Nigeria Limited acquires an ultra-modern water treatment plant capable of producing 10,000 liters of ultra-clean deionized, demineralized and distilled water per hour, this is an upgrade to the company’s already existing plant.
This was announced during the launch by the company’s chemist Roselyn Nwachukwu after the final handover and commisioning by Eng. Adegbenro Fadare of GZ Industrial Supplies Limited. This plant is in addition to their already installed capacity of 5000 liters per hour plant, the cumulative capacity of the deionized water plant is now 10,000 Liters per hour.
Deionized water is based on ion exchange technology. It comprises of minimum two vessels filled with cation and anion exchange resin respectively. Deionized water is water that has had almost all of its mineral ions removed such as cations like sodium, calcium, iron and copper and anions such as chloride and sulfate. It is a chemical process that uses specially manufactured ion-exchange resins which exchange hydrogen and hydroxide ions for dissolved minerals and then recombine to form water. It removes 99% by 99%. Available in range of diameters to meet different requirements of flowrate, output and quality. Mixed bed plant contains single vessel filled with cation as well as anion exchange resin. This system works as a polisher unit and provides ultra pure water of IP grade.
The Chemist, MS. Roselyn Nwachukwu, in an interview with the press said:
” Epoxy Oilserv Nigeria Limited has acquired ultra modern deionized water plant and as a supplier of water treatment plants and chemicals, we provides all the services associated with it and act as a one stop solution provider.”
She went further to say that, “Epoxy Oilserv Nigeria Limited are leaders in Industrial water treatment consulting, processing and industrial water treatment plant manufacturing. Due to rapid industrialization and population growth, the demand for water has been increasing sharply, the availability of desired quality and quantity of water for diverse industrial uses is becoming scarce. Thus, it has been a challenge to conserve water by maximum recycling. Our company delivers complete water treatment through a blend of technology and human capital.”
Uses of Deionized and Demineralized water
Deionization is faster, less energy-intensive and more cost effective. The hydrogen and hydroxide ions introduced in this process unite to form pure water molecules. Deionized water is an essential ingredient in hundreds of applications including:
Medical/Laboratory Processes
Deionized water meeting Water For Injection (WFI) standards of purity is used as the basis for saline and other solutions to be injected into the body during medical procedures. Its bacteria-free and mineral-free purity assures the quality and stability of the solution as other ingredients are added to it. DI laboratory water is also used to clean instruments and lab equipment and to perform tissue cell culture, blood fractionation, and other lab procedures.
Pharmaceutical Water/Neutraceutical Water
Deionized water in the pharmaceutical industry is used for preparing culture media, for making up aqueous solutions, and for washing containers and apparatus. It is also used as a raw material, ingredient, and solvent in the processing, formulation, and manufacture of pharmaceutical and neutraceutical products, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, compendia articles, and analytical reagents.
Microelectronics/Semiconductor Manufacturing
In semiconductor manufacturing, deionized water’s properties for absorbing minerals, enhancing detergents and residue-free drying make it useful for rinsing and cleaning semiconductor wafers. It is also used in wet etching, bacterial testing and many other processes throughout the fabrication facility.
Automotive
Deionized water is commonly used to top up lead-acid batteries, cooling systems and for other applications.
Cosmetics
Deionized water is often used as an ingredient to add purity, stability and performance in many hair care, skin care, body care, baby care, sun care and makeup products, where it is sometimes referred to as “aqua” on product ingredient labels.
Energy Research
Because of its high relative dielectric constant, deionized water is used as a high voltage dielectric in many pulsed power applications for energy research.
Car Wash
When used as a rinse after washing cars, windows, and similar applications, deionized spot-free rinse water dries without leaving spots caused by dissolved solutes, eliminating post-wash wipe downs.
Food and Beverage Processing
Deionized water is used as both an ingredient and a process element in food and beverage processing. As an ingredient, it offers stability, purity and sanitation. As a process element, it is used for effective sanitation.
Industrial Water
In industrial plants, DI water facilitates water and wastewater recycling; adds efficiency and life extension to boiler and steam processes, and is a key element in industrial commercial water softening.
Boiler Water Treatment Equipment
Deionized water is used to pretreat boiler feed water to reduce scaling and energy use and to control deposition, carryover and corrosion in the boiler system. As such, DI water is an essential element in boiler water recycling.
Cooling Towers
Deionized water can pretreat cooling tower make-up water to reduce scaling and energy use in power plants, petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, natural gas processing plants, food processing plants, semiconductor plants, and other industrial facilities.
Benefits of Deionized and demineralized water
Deionized water is cleaner, safer and great tasting water. It has benefits to health simply because deionized water does not contain harmful toxins and chemicals. It is used in lead acid batteries and also for water in steam irons.
Where to buy Deionized and Demineralized water: You can get Deionized water at Epoxy Oilserv Nigeria Limited partnered with GZ Industrial Supplies to sell products in their industrial supplies online such as Epochem Distilled water
