Method of Application
- Begin by thoroughly preparing the surface. Clean it by washing away dust, dirt, oil, grease, and any loose particles.
- For existing old terraces with brickbat coba or screeds, inspect the substrate to ensure its soundness.
- Cut and remove any damaged or hollow portions, as well as sharp edges, until reaching the mother slab.
- Recoat the slab with a slurry of Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP and cement in a 1:1 proportion. After drying, reinstate the brick bat coba in that portion by mixing Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP in both the base slurry and the top coba.
- In areas where the coba is sound, fill surface cracks wider than 5 mm with Dr. Fixit Crack-X or polymer-modified mortar. For cracks less than 2 mm, clean them free of dust using a vacuum cleaner.
- Apply Dr. Fixit Primeseal to the crack and allow it to dry. Then pour Dr. Fixit Newcoat into these cracks and wait for it to dry.
- Ensure that the roof slope is a minimum of 1 in 100.
- If there are existing bitumen-based waterproofing treatments, remove them completely using mechanical scarification or other effective mechanical means.
