Castrol Air Compressor Oils
Castrol Air Compressor Oils
Castrol air compressor oils are synthetic refrigerant lubricants
Castrol AirCol 2284- Synthetic compressort lubricant-
The Aircol 228 range of refrigeration oils is formulated from selected alkyl-benzene base stocks.
Application:
Suitable for use in R22 refrigeration systems with very low evaporator temperatures where Alkyl-benzene based lubricants are recommended by the manufacturer. These products may not be suitable for use in refrigeration systems employing screw compressors due to the high level of solubility of refrigerant in the lubricant, which may reduce its viscosity to unacceptable levels. However this is largely dependent on operating conditions.
Castrol Aircol 2284 can also be used in ammonia refrigeration compressors where an ISO VG 68 Alkyl-benzene based lubricant is recommended.
Features and its benefits
The Castrol Aircol 228 range of refrigeration oils has excellent miscibility and solubility characteristics with R22.
The very low floc points enable the Icematic 228 range to be used in systems where evaporator temperatures are extremely low.
However, this product needs to be handled with care by avoiding prolonged / or repeated contact with the skin. Wash thoroughly after use.
Castrol Aircol SR 46 air compressor lubricant- Synthetic oil
Aircol SR are polyalphaolefin-based synthetic compressor oils, using an advanced additive system to enhance thermal and oxidation stability and reduce component wear.
Application
Aircol SR is suitable for use in oil flooded rotary screw compressors operating under extreme climatic conditions, harsh environments and severe operating conditions where very high air discharge temperatures (> 100°C) are experienced. These oils are also suitable for use in compressor units operating at normal operating conditions, with the maximum air discharge temperature =/< 100°C, as defined by ISO 6743-3:2003.
For normal operating conditions, these products can be used for extended drain intervals up to 8000 hours.
Aircol SR range is fully compatible with nitrile, silicone, polyurethane and fluropolymer seal materials typically used in compressor units. It is not compatible with butadiene styrene (SBR) or ethylene propylene (EPDM) seals.
Aircol SR is classified as follows:
DIN 51506 classification - VDL
ISO 6743/3 - DAG, DAH and DAJ for rotary air compressors Aircol SR grades meet the requirements of:
Atlas Copco 8000 hour oil drain interval Kaeser
Its Benefits
Increased oil service life of typically up to 8000 hours in most systems, and also depending on the operating environment
Very low deposit forming tendency
Extends service life of filters and separators
Outstanding oxidation stability and anti wear performance providing long lubricant and equipment life
Ester-free formulation eliminates the formation of corrosive acids leading to longer equipment life.
Excellent water separation characteristics allow condensation to readily separate from the oil, minimizing the risk of emulsions which could block the oil separator element.
PAO based lubricant means good compatibility with seals and mineral oil based lubricants, allowing changeover to Aircol SR without compatibility issues.
This lubricant is subject to usual manufacturing tolerances
Castrol Aircol SN 100 Compressor Lubricant
Aircol SN air compressor lubricants are formulated using high quality synthetic ester base stocks with an additive system designed to enhance thermal and oxidation stability and reduce component wear.
Application
Castrol Aircol SN 100 is a compressor lubricant developed to cope with the severe operating conditions experienced in rotary screw, rotary vane and reciprocating air compressors operating at high compression ratios and high discharge temperatures. Under these conditions Aircol SN 100 offers much reduced carbon forming tendencies and extended oil life when compared to mineral oils due to the much higher oxidation resistance. In reciprocating units, Aircol SN 100 has up to eight times the service life of mineral oils.
Benefits:
Superior oxidation stability.
Improved lubricity and film strength.
Higher film strength and excellent anti-wear properties.
Excellent high temperature performance.
Reduced maintenance, extended oil life and cleaner operations, minimises carbon formulation and provides extended valve life.
Reduced oil consumption due to a reduction in the feed rate to the cylinder walls and piston rings without increasing wear rates. Since less lubricant is consumed the downstream air is also of higher quality.
Reduced compressor down-time due to less wear on all moving parts, longer machine life and reduced maintenance.
The operating range of Aircol SN 100 extends well beyond that of conventional mineral oils. The high spontaneous ignition temperature gives greater safety by reducing the possibility of downstream fires and explosions.
This lubricant is also subject to usual manufacturing tolerances
Castrol Aircol helps you achieve greater reliability and performance in your rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors. And also, reduces carbon and varnish formation, helps protect valves and provide a low-deposit tendency. These synthetic products also helps to reduce your operating costs by providing longer protection for specialized and demanding applications compared to conventional mineral-oil-based products. For inquiries or quotes contact us on info@gz-ind.com
